| 1962 | Gerd Eschenbach, Rudolph's son, becomes the third generation of Eschenbach family members to guide the corporation. |
| 1974 | Walter Eschenbach, Gerd's younger brother, joins the organization and facilitates the company’s expansion into the eyewear category. During the next 2 decades, Eschenbach pioneers the concept of injection-molding lenses, including the first injection-molded aspheric lens ever produced. Eschenbach also develops an outstanding reputation for consistent innovation, introducing new concepts such as an illuminated magnifier and the aplanatic lens design. |
| 1983 | After six months of conducting research pertaining to the viability of the North American market for distribution of Eschenbach's German-built optical products, Gerd Eschenbach and Geoffrey Moss formalize a working partnership, establishing Eschenbach Optik of America, Inc. The North American business has grown significantly every year since. The first home of Eschenbach Optik of America (EOA) is established in the home of Geoffrey and Karen Moss in Weston, CT. As the company quickly outgrows its designated spare bedroom, basement, and garage working areas, the couple moves the warehouse operation to Wilton, CT. |
| 1990 | EOA purchases a 2,900 sq. ft. building in Ridgefield, CT. |
| 1992 | Ken Bradley, now President of EOA, is hired as the first sales representative covering New York, New Jersey and the entire New England territory. |
| 1993 | EOA purchases an additional 1.5-acres for future expansion. |
| 1996 | EOA increases its working space and number of employees once again, while developing administrative and warehouse space to 11,000-sq. ft. |
| 2001 | EOA attaches a second story to its main structure securing an additional 3,000 sq. ft. for customer service and distribution activities. |
| 2003 | Eschenbach has an exclusive sales organization of 20+ Territory Managers and affiliates who provide training and the highest quality of customer support to clients located in all of North America, Mexico and Latin America. |
| 2004 | Eschenbach Optik of America is unquestionably the leader in magnification products for the visually impaired. With a sales force of more than 20, and affiliates covering all corners of North, Central and South America, Eschenbach leads as the preferred partner for Eyecare professionals offering low vision care, and for those in need of industry magnification solutions. The Pulse Data HumanWare / Eschenbach Alliance Pulse Data HumanWare and Eschenbach recently announced the largest Low Vision strategic marketing alliance in America. | 2005 | In January, Eschenbach Optik of America announced a change in its senior management team at its North American headquarters. Ken Bradley, formerly the President of the Ophthalmic Division, is now the President of Eschenbach Optik of America and will have overall responsibility for both divisions of the company - Ophthalmic and Commercial. Geoffrey Moss, the former President & CEO, will assume the newly created position of Founder and will report to Mr. Bradley. Mr. Moss will manage the Commercial Optiks business, in addition to supervising administrative and strategic initiatives for the company. |
