Absorptive Filters and Protective Eyewear

Eschenbach carries an exclusive line of absorptive filters in both wrap-around and fit-over styles in a variety of tint colors and frame sizes.  Absorptive filters are designed to improve contrast and reduce intra-ocular glare, thereby improving your viewing experience.

SolarShield© Contrast-Enhancing Absorptive Filters are specifically designed for the Low Vision patient.  These absorptive filters were developed in cooperation with Dioptics Medical Products, the manufacturer of the #1 doctor recommended sunglass.  SolarShields© provide 40% more preotection from the sun than ordinary sunglasses because of the protective top and side shield design.
Five lens tints are available - gray, plum, yellow, amber, and orange.  Gray polarized and plum lenses decrease overall light transmission and reduce glare.  Yellow, orange, and amber lenses decrease blue light transmission and increase contrast.
Three frame sizes are available - small, medium, and large.  Small frames will fit patients who wear smaller eyewear or no eyewear at all.  Medium and large sizes will comfortably fit over standard eyewear.
All SolarShields© block 100% of UVA/UVB rays, have bend-to-fit temples for a custom fit, and lenses can be Rx'd.

Wellness Protect© Eyewear features yellow lenses that protect the eyes by blocking light 470nm in wavelength and less, and eliminating most blue light.  The Wellness Protect Eyewear can be prescription corrected and made in any of the standard filtering tints including orange (525nm), amber (511nm), plum (400nm), yellow (450nm) or gray (400nm).  The gray tint is polarized.

Wellness Protect© Eyewear features an attractive frame that provides protection from light by using shields on the top and bottom of the lens.  They are comfortable and have an unmistakeable European style.

Off-the-shelf options are available in 5 tints: a light 15% brown, a darker 65% brown, a still darker 75% brown, the darkest brown at 85%, and a gradient that is 50% brown at the top of the lens and decreases to 10% at the bottom.

Solar Comfort© Contrast-Enhancing Absorptive Filters are wrap-around style glasses that are ideal for emmetropes (those who require no correction), contact lens wearers, younger patients, and fashion-consious seniors.  Available in five lens tints - amber, yellow, polarized gray, orange, and plum - Solar Comfort© filters are unisex, lightweight, and designed to reduce intra-ocular glare (gray) and improve contrast (orange, plum, amber, yellow).
