Low Vision Program: In-Office Staff Training

What Kind of In-office Staff Training Does Eschenbach Offer?

Eschenbach’s In-office Staff Training is the second part of our Low Vision Program and is critical for a successful Low Vision Care service. The topics can be custom selected to suit the needs of your practice and can be offered whenever needed. The training is conducted in your office by your local Territory Manager and covers a variety of practice management as well as clinical topics including:

  1. Low Vision Care Evaluation Protocol Review
Easy Selection GuideIf you need assistance in creating a protocol to follow during low vision evaluations, your local Territory Manager can review one that Eschenbach created, entitled “The Seven Steps to Dispensing Low Vision Aids”. The steps covered in this protocol can help make your low vision evaluations run smoothly and efficiently, minimizing your time and successful patient outcomes.

Included with this protocol is a review of Eschenbach’s “Easy Selection Guide” which helps you quickly identify the optimal products from the Low Vision Program’s Diagnostic Dispensing system that meet the needs and goals of your patients.

If needed, your local Territory Manager can even work side-by-side with you as you perform low vision patient evaluations to make sure you are comfortable with the process.
  2. Modular Training Program
This program is designed to make you comfortable with each of the major categories of low vision devices and provide you with guidance on clinical and practice management topics. The courses offered in this Program are:
    1. Comprehensive: The material is presented in 12 different modules: 9 clinical topics and 3 practice management topics (modules listed below).
    2. Customizable: You can choose just the modules you feel will meet the needs of your practice.
    3. Credible: Each professional training module has been reviewed, edited, and approved by Tom Porter, O.D., Director of Low Vision Services at the St. Louis University and a Diplomate in Low Vision with the American Academy of Optometry. Most modules are also approved for CEUs from ACVREP, JCAHPO and ABO.
    4. Convenient: The training modules are delivered by your Territory Manager right in your office, at a date and time that works well for you.

The topics in Eschenbach’s Modular Training Program are organized into 12 different modules, each with a PowerPoint presentation supplemented by hands-on instruction. The topics include:
