Poor quality lenses. Insufficient diopter adjustment and focusing range. How on earth anyone can consider this product is of high quality defies logic.
My 88 year old father has macular degeneration in both eyes and was so unhappy that he couldn't enjoy TV anymore. Our low vision center prescribed the Max TV glasses and he is like a kid with a new toy! He is so happy to be able to enjoy TV again and the wheel adjustments on the frame are very easy for him to use. He gets frustrated at complicated technology, but these glasses are amazingly simple to use, they are very sturdy so he isn't afraid he will break them, and it's given him back a spark that I feared was long gone. Thank you for making such a great product at a price that is very affordable, which allows so many people to get the benefit of watching their favorite programs again. I cannot thank you enough for the joy you have restored to my Dad's life! I recommend this product to anyone with vision issues--it is truly amazing what a difference it makes for the visually impaired.
I had an 83 year old client who is visually impaired and wanted to watch her favorite basketball team, the LA Lakers, on TV. Through my charity that serves our local community I was able to provide her a MaxTV and she cried with joy the first time she could see her TV screen from her couch. It was unbelievable.
We helped start the first 2 low vision clinics in the country of Cape Verde this year. Initially, we purchased cheaper 2x telescopic glasses from 2 low vision suppliers that provide Brand X. On the shipment to one island/clinic, 8 of 8 were defective. On the shipment to the other island/clinic, 2 of 6 were defective, and 4 were just very poor quality. I tried Brand X a few times during my many years doing low vision clinics in the US, and had similar poor results, so I decided that Max TV was the only brand I would carry for our patients. I mistakenly thought that since these were for Humanitarian projects in a very poor country, I could get the other brand. What a mistake. We decided to re-stock the 2 clinics with the best--Max TV for distance. Even though they cost a little more, and they got stuck in Customs here in Cape Verde and it cost us almost $275 US to get them out, they are completely worth every penny. We showed them to the ophthalmologist yesterday, and she absolutely loves them. Now that she completely trusts the quality of Eschenbach, she wants to get #1636-2 for her own use in surgery. Max TV is the only quality telescopic glasses of this type. Don't embarrass your clinic by carrying or showing lesser quality telescopic glasses.
I have morning and afternoon clients, both preferred and purchased Max Event telescopic glasses with mirrored coated lenses. They both agreed that the coated mirror provides more clarity and more magnification as compare to plain lenses. These were clients on the same day that is why I was amazed.
